Expedition auf den Franz Josef Gletscher

Nachdem es 4 Tage am Stueck geregnet hatte, endlich mal wieder etwas Sonne! Wir entscheiden uns fuer einen Ausflug auf den " Franz Josef". After 4 days of continuous rain - finally the sun! We decide to visit the 'Franz Josef' glacier.

Kepler Track

Gerade haben wir 4 Tage Wanderung hinter uns und alle Glieder schmerzen.
Wir hatten grosses Glueck, denn wir hatten 4 Tage schoenes Sonniges Wetter!

Der Kepler Track ist einer der 9 "Great Walks" von Neuseeland. Er ist ein 60Kilometer Rundweg, durch spektakulaere Szenerie des Fiordland National Parks. Man muss die Huetten oder Campingplaetze vorher buchen und sich gut vorbereiten, denn ist man einmal unterwegs, ist man auf sich selbst gestellt. - Allerdings trifft man auf dem Weg viele andere Wanderer. :)


We just had 4 days of trekking and all our limbs hurt.
We were very lucky, because we had 4 days of fine sunny weather!

"The Kepler Track, a 60 kilometre circular track, traverses through the spectacular scenery in Fiordland National Park. It is part of the Te-Wāhipounamu – South West New Zealand World Heritage Area." (DOC) The huts or camping grounds have to be bookes in advance and be well prepared, because once you are on your way, you are on your own. - Although you meet lots of other hikers on the way. :)

New Zealand!!!

Since our sailing trip was shorter than expected and we had no car anymore, we organised a flight to Christchurch, New Zealand right after our sailing trip was over. 38 hours after we arrived in NZ we bought a little van...

christchurch ist eine sehr schoene stadt, sie erinnert ein wenig an holland finde ich. die letzten tage war hier ein festival auf dem ueberall strassenkuenstler auftraten. wir waren jeden abend bei einer vorfuehrung, denn man kann es sich leisten. das konzept ist so, dass man einen geringen festbetrag "donation" zahlt und die kuenstler dann spaeter noch mit einem eimer herumlaufen.
wir haben einige richtig coole akrobaten und comedians gesehen!

While we were in Christchurch the World Buskers Street Festival was on. So every day and night we got to see comedians, acrobatics and other entertainment.

With this headline on a noticeboard our sailing trip started. 

It was not as nice as the first one and not as long as expected (due to wind and nightshifts). But both of us learned navigating and of course more sailing. The sea was pretty ruff sometimes and often land was out of sight. Nothing but the great wide ocean...
